Chickpeas are an annual legume of the family Fabaceae. Chickpeas are a  nutritional powerhouse including Zinc. They are also rich in proteins hence a good Alternative protein replacement for all forms of plant based diet. They combine well with many other food sto make delicious meals.

Preparations; There is no one best way of cooking Chickpeas. Our advice is to be creative and adopt the method that best works for you and the meal you are trying to serve.

Place the chickpeas in a large bowl. Pour over enough cold water to cover completely. Set aside overnight to soak.

After soaking, transfer the chickpeas to acolander to drain. Remove and discard any discolored chickpeas.

Place the drained chickpeas in a saucepan and cover with plenty of fresh cold water. Simmer until plump and tender.

Prepare soup with tomatoes, Onion, Green Pepper, spices or any other combination of seasoning which you prefer. This soups hold be prepared separately, once ready add the Chickpeas and mix it well in to the soup.
